This is a temporary position to cover the anticipated 8 week absence of the current Operations Manager from ~ October 28, 2018 through ~ January 5, 2019.  The successful candidate would begin employment on or about October 8, 2018 to be trained in the role.  Most work would be completed during normal office hours (8am-5pm), although some evening hours would be required.

The position has broad responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the European American Chamber of Commerce, and reports to the Executive Director.  The position does not include any supervisory duties.

Events & Programming:

  • Plan and effectively execute Stammtisch and L’Aperitif networking event series and any EACC additional events as needed, as well as assist with the ACG & EACC’s women’s initiative events (November and January)
  • Event promotion: manage company communication platforms (website, weekly communication, social media), members and partners communication platforms, and assist with regional media exposure
  • Support planning and implementation of Beaujolais Nouveau Premiere event on November 15, 2018.

Operations:

  • Manage EACC’s member management platform to ensure member information is up-to-date and accurate
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the EACC office, including supply ordering, conference room reservations, mailing services, etc.
  • Liaison with IT services and website/member management platform provider
  • Liaison with building facilities
  • Manage the logistics of EACC Annual Meeting
  • Coordinate with Accounts Manager as needed

Young Professionals:

  • Act as the interim point of contact for members of the EACC YP Leadership Committee in conjunction with the EACC Executive Director

Business Development:  

  • Provide prospective members the necessary paperwork and information to sign up as an EACC member; process completed applications and ensure membership invoices are issued in conjunction with EACC Accounting Manager
  • Follow up with new members to welcome them to the EACC and make sure they are introduced to the EACC network through the EACC Newsbrief
  • Work with Executive Director and Accounting Manager to facilitate annual renewal process
  • Maintain accurate member information and intelligence in database and on website (as also noted above)
  • As time permits, scan traditional and social media outlets for EACC member news to showcase in EACC communications products (Newsbrief)
  • Attend and support EACC networking events

Communications:

  • Draft and distribute the weekly EACC Newsbrief; content development in coordination with Executive Director
  • Manage social media pages including FB, LinkedIn and Twitter in conjunction with the EACC Executive Director
  • Manage and update EACC website (as also noted above)

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Completed or currently working toward Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, international studies, or communications
  • Project and event management experience
  • Genuine interest in international business development and trade
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, and social media platforms (especially Twitter and Facebook; knowledge of or experience with ChamberMaster is not required, but is a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible and willing to engage in additional activities outside of job description to support team members and organization
  • Polished, confident, self-motivated, detail oriented, punctual
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including evenings and additional days
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Ability to manage several ongoing tasks
